‘Via Negativa, The Divine Dark’ by Robert Adamson has won this year’s Blake Poetry Prize, presented by the NSW Writers’ Centre and the Blake Society.
Adamson’s poem was one of seven shortlisted for this year’s prize, worth $5000, which attracted close to 500 entries. The judges described Adamson’s poem as ‘a powerful, visually striking, intelligent poem which explores complex ideas associated with negative theology in a humble but resonant way’. ‘The voice of the poem is engaging and convincing, the movement and rhythm assured, and the natural imagery convincingly detailed,’ said the judges.
