Kirkpatrick in second win for Boardman Tasker

| By Joshua Farrington

Author Andy Kirkpatrick has won the 2012 Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature for a second time, beating off other award-winning entries.

The prize, which has been running for 30 years, rewards books which revolve around mountains and mountaineering, commemorating the lives of writers and climbers Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker who disappeared on Everest in 1982.

Kirkpatrick first won the award in 2008 with his debut book Psychovertical (Hutchinson), and has now won again with Cold Wars, published by independent publisher Vertebrate Publishing.
